PALAOLIMPICO
Palaolimpico in Turin is one of o the buldings inherited from the Winter Olympiads 2006.
Palaolimpico distinguishes itself for its functionality and flexibility implant, united to the beauty of an aesthetics conceived by two international archistars, Arata Isozaki and Pier Paolo Maggiora.
Built on the occasion of the winter Olympic XX Giochi, the plant is characterized for the extreme flexibility of spaces (it has the ability to entertain events reduced of 1000 people up to great international productions, for a total of 12.500 places to sit), for the exceptional acoustics and above all for an aesthetics to tall impact, that has made it to the eyes of the world one of the symbols in the Turin of the third millennium.
The futuristic building introduces itself as a rigorous Cartesian cube, a great volume suspended by earth and tall 18 meters (developed on four levels of which two buried up to 7,5 meters under earth), entirely dressed again in steel that leans on a plinth glass wall tall five meters.
In this futuristic building it will take place the fifth World Tribology Congress with a plenary room that can accommodate all participants, many parallel sessions, an extended exhibition area.
The Palaolimpico Isozaki Torino is located in Santa Rita district, right next to the Olympic Stadium.

How to reach Palaolimpico:
By bus
From the railway station Porta Nuova take the bus no. 4 and get off at Corso Unione Sovietica/Corso Sebastopoli
From the railway station Porta Susa take the bus no. 10 and get off at Corso IV Novembre/Corso Sebastopoli. In alternative take the bus no. 14 – direction Solferino and get off Corso Sebastopoli / Corso Unione Sovietica.
By car – parking
We suggest to Leave your car in the parking Piazza Caio Mario and take line 4 or 10 to reach the Palaolimpico in few minutes
